Baltic Born was founded in 2016 by three sisters—Angela, Allison, and Marianne—who started the business as a side hustle from their basement, initially selling affordable occasion-wear dresses at pop-up events. They’ve learned their audience by focusing on marketing and adapting their offerings, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their efforts led to significant growth, and by 2022, Baltic Born was recognized as the 14th fastest-growing company on the Inc. 5000 list, now shipping thousands of orders a month. We sat down with Marianne to get more of the Baltic Born story.

Using data to win

The Baltic Born brand has grown rapidly by it’s relentless testing of products. They’ll order a small run of products, and test everything in it’s initial selling from how it converts, the average order when it’s purchased, it’s return rate, and more. With that data in hand, they’re able to make a decision on if they want to double down on a product, or take it out of their catalog. The struggle was that nothing was automated about the reporting dashboard in their old returns tool.

“Our returns lead would spend a couple days each month just pulling our return report and making any helpful sense of it.”

Integrating with their existing solutions

When your business is built on knowing which items are working and not, in an ever evolving collection of goods, this kind of inefficiency just coulding last.

“Every return had 2-3 touch points by someone on our team because there was no direct integration with our WMS.”

When Redo first met with Baltic Born it was clear that we’d have to find ways to make their lives easier, especially in connecting with some of their existing processes and solutions.

Returns and protection under one roof

Not long after starting on Redo Returns, Baltic Born added Redo Protection to their account.

“We previously used a different solution for protection, but being able to do it all in one place with returns has been so much nicer.”

Having it all under one roof has made for a much more complete view of how their products are doing through the whole chain of orders, returns, and claims. And they no longer spend days each month just returns reports.

“The views we have in our reporting are night and day different from before.”

Marianne and her team have always been willing to right into the thick of their operational challenges, which has made for a really great relationship with Redo.
